Welcome to Ask Velvet. This morning I sat out on my front porch just to clear my head. The weather was beautiful again. And I took that as my moment, my time to just sit, breathe, and think. And as I sat there, I started reflecting on what I'm truly grateful for. Now let me be real with you. When I first got laid off, I applied everywhere. Every job, every temper agency, anywhere that would take an application. I was there. And for months nothing. No callbacks, no offers, just silence. Meanwhile, the bills didn't stop. Light, gas, water. You already know. They kept coming. And I started falling behind. I was worried. I was scared. There were nights I cried because I didn't know how I was gonna keep everything going. I even applied for assistance to help with utilities. But if you know, you know, when you're single with no kids, things don't always move fast. So I waited and I worried. Then finally, I got a job offer. But it was part-time, under thirty hours a week. And honestly, I didn't even hesitate. Because at that point, any money was better than no money. Bills don't stop. So I took it. And even though it wasn't what I was used to, it changed me. Do I miss the money I used to make? Absolutely. But this season has taught me something real. There are things in life you just don't need. I've learned how to stretch what I have. And even though it's not a lot, it's been enough to keep the lights on and keep me going. But more than that, it helped me refocus. Because before all of this, I would have never thought about starting a podcast. Never. But going through this, it woke something up in me. It made me realize that if I truly want success in this life, I might have to create it for myself. And that's where this podcast comes in. I'm so thankful for every single listener. When I look at the numbers and see people tuning in, it honestly amazes me. Because I never thought people would want to hear what I have to say. But you do. And that tells me I'm making an impact somewhere. That somebody out there is listening and saying, that's me too. And I just hope that everyone who tunes in will continue to ride this journey with me. Continue to listen, continue to share, continue to be there. Because I'm still growing, I'm still learning, I'm still building. But I see it becoming something bigger than me. I believe this podcast can be a place for people who need uplifting because we all need that sometimes. We're all going through something, whether it's a job loss, losing someone we love, or just trying to figure life out day by day. Everybody is carrying something. And sometimes hearing someone else's journey, hearing how they're pushing through, it can help you. It can shift your mindset. It can encourage you. It can remind you that you're not alone. And that's what I hope this moment in my life becomes. I hope my journey helps somebody else. Because we're living in a different time right now. Things aren't the way they used to be. And I'm just gonna say it, the economy feels different. It feels harder than it used to. It feels like more people are struggling just to handle the basics. And that's real. It is not easy trying to provide for yourself right now. But through all of this, I've also realized something deeper. I'm not just building a podcast. I'm building something that I want to turn into a business, something profitable, something meaningful, something that can last, something I can pass down to my children one day. And I pray that when the time comes, they'll keep it going. Because this right here, this is bigger than me. And I truly believe that God doesn't give you more than you can handle. Even though I'll be honest, sometimes I surprise myself with what I'm able to handle. But I'm still here. I'm still pushing, I'm still building. And while I'm on this journey, whether it feels like a roller coaster, a train, a boat, or a long road, I just hope you ride it with me. Because one day we're going to reach that destination. And when we do, you'll be able to say you saw it from the beginning. You were a part of the journey. Now let me ask you something. If this podcast has ever made you think, if it's ever encouraged you, if it's ever helped you get through a moment, then I need your help. We're calling this the Three and Me Challenge. Here's how it works. I want you to share this podcast with three people. That's it. Just three. Friends, family, coworkers, anybody who might need to hear something real. And if you really want to support the podcast and the growth of this podcast, take it one step further. Ask those same three people to send just one dollar to my Cash App. Now listen, it's not about the amount, it's about building something together, one small step at a time. And when you do that, send me a message and let me know. And I will give you a personal shout out on the next episode because I want to recognize the people who are helping me grow this from the ground up. And as this podcast continues to grow, and I truly believe it will, there will be more ways for me to give back to you. So keep listening, keep sharing, and keep riding this journey with me. Because we're just getting started. And as always, thank you for tuning in to Ask Velvet. I'll talk to you soon.
