What does it really mean to be great? We've heard the slogan for years now Make America Great Again. It was the signature campaign message of Donald Trump. And it wasn't just a political line, it became a movement, hats, rallies, debates, social media battles, three words that stirred pride in some and pain in others. But today I want to pause the politics and ask something deeper. When we say great again, what are we measuring? Are we talking about the economy, military strength, global respect, freedom, unity? And more importantly, who gets to decide what great actually looks like? Because depending on who you ask in America, the answer is very different. For some Americans, great again meant stronger borders, lower taxes, conservative values, being front and center, and putting America first in global affairs. It meant jobs coming back, less regulation, and a country that prioritized its own citizens before anyone else. For others, that same phrase felt like going backward, not forward. It raised questions like when exactly was America great? Great for who? And who might have been left out of that greatness? Economically, some families feel squeezed. Politically, we seem more divided than ever. Socially we're arguing about everything education, race, gender, immigration, free speech. Globally, some say we've asserted strength. Others say our alliances have been tested. And here's the thing, greatness isn't just GDP, numbers or stock markets. Greatness is also do citizens feel safe? Do people feel heard? Are families thriving? Is there opportunity for everyone? Are we united or just louder? Because a nation can be powerful and still be fractured. A country can be wealthy and still have people struggling. A nation can call itself great, but if its people are divided, stressed and distrustful of one another, is that greatness? Maybe the bigger question isn't whether a slogan worked. Maybe it's this. Has America become more united, more compassionate, more respected, more stable? Or have we become more polarized? This episode isn't about attacking or defending one person or one party. It's about reflection because slogans are powerful, but reality is more complicated. So I want to leave you with this. When you look at your life, your community, the direction of this country, do you feel like America is great again? Are we what everyone expected when they heard those words? Or are we still searching for what greatness truly means? I'm not giving you the answer today. I'm asking you to think. Are we what everyone expected? And if not, what would real greatness look like to you? Let's talk about it.
