From the porch to the couch or wherever I be, real talk my way, real life, yeah that's me. Keeping it real, no scripts, no filters. Just say how I feel, no gimmicks, no fillers. Now that you got the vibe, welcome to the show. Sit back, relax, let the stories flow. Laugh a little, think a little, stay for a while. Real conversations, Velvet style. Alright. So let me tell y'all what's really going on today. I originally planned to sit out on the porch and do one of those watching the neighborhood type moments. Just sitting back, observing the vibe, seeing who's out, who's moving around, you know, just regular neighborhood life. But that plan changed real quick. Because today we're getting ready for this storm that's supposed to hit here in DC. And let me tell you, when they start talking about severe weather, I take that seriously. I'm one of those people that believes in being prepared instead of waiting until the last minute. So yeah, I did step out on the porch earlier. I sat there for a little bit. It wasn't too cold, more like jacket weather, but the sky was already looking a little suspicious. You know, that look the sky gets before a storm. Grey, heavy clouds, that kind of quiet feeling in the air. But I couldn't stay out there long because I had things to do. I had to make sure everything was ready in case the weather gets worse, charging up my phone, charging up my battery packs, making sure I've got an extra batteries ready. Because listen, when storms hit, the first thing people start worrying about is power going out. And when the power goes out, everybody suddenly wishes they had charged their stuff earlier. So I've been doing my little preparation routine. I even ordered another battery bank and a flashlight. Now yes, I ordered it a little late, I'll admit that. But hey, better late than never, right? If it gets here before the storm gets really bad, great. And if it shows up while it's pouring rain outside, that's fine too. As long as it gets here, I'm not complaining. Meanwhile, it has already started raining. And not just a little drizzle either. It's really coming down now. The sky is darker, the whole day just turned dreary real fast. And you can tell the weather has changed because the neighborhood has changed too. Earlier today there were people outside, folks standing around the corner store, people talking, catching up, doing what I like to call the usual neighborhood news broadcast. You know how that goes everybody standing around sharing the latest gossip, the latest updates, whatever's going on. But now nobody. The rain cleared everybody out real quick. The only thing moving outside right now are cars driving by trying to get wherever they're going before the weather gets worse. But the sidewalk's empty. And let me tell you something else. My cats know something is going on too. They've been running around the house acting completely wildly. Anybody with pets knows what I'm talking about. Animals can sense weather changes before we even fully realize it sometimes. So they've been zooming from room to room like they're preparing for something too. Meanwhile, I'm outside watching the weather reports, watching TV, keeping an eye on what's happening outside, and just waiting to see how this storm is going to play out because storms have a funny way of changing the whole mood of the day. One minute everything is normal, people outside, conversations happening, regular neighborhood life. And the next minute rain pouring down, skies dark, everybody inside their homes, and the whole place gets quiet. So right now that's where we are, just sitting back, staying prepared, watching the rain come down and waiting to see what this storm decides to do next. From the porch to the couch, wherever I be. Yeah we talk it out real life stories. That's what I'm about. If you liked what you heard and the vibe today, make sure you tune in when I'm back this way. More real talk, more life, more moments to show. Same porch, same couch when the next one go. Until next time, keep it real for a while and I'll see you next episode Velvet Style.
